Any day at the coast is a good day

Sunday afternoon we headed to the coast with my sister - destination: the Oregon Coast Aquarium. It was a rainy, windy day, but the scenery as we drove down Highway 101 was still fantastic. Not a day to spend playing in the sand, but like I say in the title....

We had a great visit to the Aquarium, as always (it was my sister's first visit). We got to see dinnertime for the seals, sea lions and sea otters, visited all the exhibits, watched several short videos, and took lots of photos. If you ever make it out our way, this place should definitely be on your agenda. (Why you may have heard of it: Keiko of "Free Willy" fame lived here in custom-built quarters before he was shipped off to Iceland to live "happily" in the wild; he died in Norway five years later.)

Brian wanted to see a lighthouse, so after the Aquarium closed and we ate supper, we stopped at Yaquina Head. This is another stop on the coast I'd highly recommend. We arrived shortly before closely so we didn't have time to go inside, but the clouds parted enough to give us some dramatic light for photos. What a perfect end to a wonderful day!
I have blog fodder coming at me faster than I have time to sit at the computer. Watch for more from . . .
